Episode 1 - Dec 2026
WHAT Does the world need but another fucking podcast right? I get it. However for some time now, I have felt a desire to produce a place, honestly for myself.. to sort through these types of "big" ideas. Ideas that many feel have grown increasingly important for us to discuss as a species. That is really my hope - to shine a light, and in a way that demonstrates the value of allowing outside-the-box thinking, curiosity, as well as recognizing the credibility of folks who are very much taking this stuff seriously as well. Your tax dollars are funding the research. I think it's fair that the public be aware of the larger ideas. As a species... it's just time to have these larger conversations. I am also not interested anymore in having to pretend like these topics are not the most interesting ideas in known human history. There has been a societal conditioning of sorts, whether on purpose or accident, that I will not be making use of in this space.
If you’re brand new to this "stuff" my suggestion would be to start with the Double Slit Experiment - it's arguably what birthed quantum mechanics, and it is a repeatable lab experiment, with an observer's consciousness having what is inarguably (imo) an effect on the experiment. (people will argue... *Ive left a rebuttal below) Or a step further, and with The Split-Brain Experiments or Microtubule Anesthetic Resistance (thats as .gov site..) or Quantum Biology or Orch-OR Validation Theory or The Cogitate Consortium "Adversarial" Collaboration (Published in Nature 2025) or The Libet Consciousness Timeline Experiments... The point is I personally am not interested in debating this stuff... like at all. People are doing the work, and my motivations are to be learning as much as I can, as cautiously as I can. I am not really claiming to "know" anything.
TLDR: Consciousness has an effect on "reality." Go ask science. Links to start below.
Here is also a place that I need, if anything, so that I have a place to PUT these thoughts, questions and ideas myself. Turns out you can't bring existentialism into the dinner conversation every night, and personally I've needed a way to make sense of the experiences I have had in my life, some fantastic. Truly. Some of those I will share here as we go along. I want a place to share and look into abstract ideas and a place to note fantastic stories I've heard, research done. I do consider myself pragmatic in many ways. Which I'd guess is a hilarious first take from the outside, I can see that... Mostly, though.. I simply hope to do a good job, and grow my own, and others' understandings of the "construct" we find ourselves in. I don't consider myself an expert on any of this stuff - And I haven't decided if this information is deliberately obscured or not yet, but I do know that we as a species, have lived too long in a celebration of ignorance, and I believe our problems are solvable through education, compassion, and action - we must first shine a light.
There are embarrassing amounts of credible and researchable information for many subjects like this... Any serious look at one thing like consciousness will quickly have a person looking at crop circles and UFO/UAP (talk about embarrassing amounts of evidence...) there are also charlatans, hopefuls, ignoramuses, bots, world gubberments manipulating news cycles, abductees (or contactees depending on their mindset...) and all kinds of stuff. It'll be a good time.
So, that's my main aim.
I don't know what else to tell ya, but as far as I can see it consciousness is creating reality, and not the other way around, and if you can stop and appreciate what that means... truly.. I mean. I don't really know but the implications are that the material world is a fraction of a larger "reality." Most folks who have taken time to practice mindfulness, meditation, psychedelics will say something like this anyway. but yeah, I don't think consciousness is limited to biological systems.. and sure I mean AI, but no I don't JUST mean AI... I mean something... else.
So I plan to focus much of my efforts here first. If this is the sort of place you think you would want to participate in, I would encourage you to reach out on Substack. I'm not, and don't currently plan to become, a full-time podcaster. I have many projects and machinations that make life worth living, check 'em out here as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to check into EPC - Dustin
Someone once said to me, that if I was uncomfortable I was in the right place.
Roundabout the year of our lord 375 BC, Plato wrote a scene in Book VII of his Republic that to this day, remains important (maybe more than ever) and 24 centuries later it is still giving people existential headaches. Picture prisoners chained in a cave since birth, facing a blank wall. Behind them a fire burns, and people walk past it carrying objects, casting shadows on the wall in front of them. The shadows are all the prisoners have ever seen, so to them, the shadows are reality. They name them, study them, and even hand out prizes to whoever is best at predicting which shadow comes next. It never occurs to them that there's anything else.
Then one prisoner gets free. He turns around, sees the fire, and is dragged up and out into the sunlight. The truth is painful before it is beautiful. At first the light is blinding and nothing makes sense, but slowly his eyes adjust, and he realizes the world is bigger, brighter, and stranger than anything on that wall. He goes back down to tell the others. Now that his eyes are used to the light, he's terrible at reading the shadows, and to the others that proves the outside world ruins you. They laugh at him, call him crazy, and make it clear that anyone who tries to drag them out will regret it.
The allegory isn't really about caves. It's about the gap between what we're shown and what's real, and about how strongly people resist closing that gap. Twenty-four centuries later, the cave has better lighting and a lot more screens, but the story still holds. Exiting Plato's Cave takes that idea seriously and keeps a sense of humor about it, because sometimes the only sane response to how strange reality is is to laugh, turn around, and ask who's holding the objects.
Alright, this is the part where I show my work, or at least where my head's at so far. Consider it a rebuttal and a working model of "reality" rolled into one. I'm aware of the detector counterargument on the double slit: that "observation" just means measurement, not awareness. For better or worse, I am running an esoteric, blended model of "reality," and the way I've squared wave function collapse in my own head ties to the idea of the Akashic records and the remote viewing research world, which dovetails with Michael Masters' block universe view. Others have postulated, including Masters, that this would essentially have effects on the idea of free will and time travel, or at the very least time travel into the past.
Here's my rebuttal to their rebuttal, followed by some wild tie-ins. I'm not gonna link ALL of the work I've collected here. I am a one-man band at this point, and reality doesn't render what it doesn't need. Turns out the universe isn't even "locally real," and one experiment even suggests two observers can be stuck with different "facts" about the same event.
If some part of existing sits outside of "time," the universe doesn't have to store every unobserved outcome just in case somebody goes looking later, at least not in 4D (sorry to put that thought in your brain). It already knows that outcome is/was/will be null. Time is an illusion of 4D (Einstein himself called the distinction between past, present, and future "a stubbornly persistent illusion"), or at least it's traversable in higher dimensions but NOT changeable. So the universe washes the information out, the same way a computer program would: reality stores what it needs, and it knows what it's gonna need before we do. It doesn't need the rest, because there ARE NOT multiple realities. Or if there are, each one is set in a fixed state. So on our end, in 4D, we see it as incomplete data. That's my best analogy, or "guess."
This is particularly upsetting to a person, as it implies a lack of free will to some degree. And there's some science poking at that already. In the 1980s, a neuroscientist named Benjamin Libet found brain activity that seemed to kick off before people were aware of deciding to move. People are still arguing about what that means, but it doesn't exactly help the case for free will.
I personally think this IS the case. However, free will is more complex. While we are in this lifetime/3D/universe, we are living a sort of script, but the mind/soul/whatever (outside of the body, or "before," if we must) has choice. In order for anything to have meaning, though, that mind can't know everything. The experience can't be "had" if the ego can't experience linear time. Whatever intellectual discussions we may have, we have in our very essence a need for things like love. We ALL need it. So until someone can prove to me that something like love doesn't exist (something else you can't find in a lab), I am willing to openly postulate on consciousness, life after death, UFOs, whatever.
If there is a universe, we are all inside it. It's impossible not to be... the universe. It gets pretty fucking stupid, huh? This is just a framework from the experiences I have had in my life. I no longer really care to "prove." I only want to caution that if you do open the door, you can never shut it. It is truly a maze of mirrors. But this is a place where I'm willing to say the actual "nuts" ideas, and to emphasize exactly that: they are IDEAS, not exactly beliefs. I'm LOOKING, not CLAIMING. I am more than open to an evolving framework, and I think that's important. As I get the chance to make more and speak to more folks in this space, I expect my ideas to change. The cave is inside another cave. It's caves all the way down. I can't wait.
The physics links here are real research. Really. The leap from them to my model is mine. So see where I'm going? My working idea (and many others, with actual science degrees and pedigrees) is that consciousness renders "reality," and the way I see it simulation theory maps pretty much right onto this, and onto the block/Akashic model I'm entertaining lately. I think of it more as a "construct" than a simulation. Gnostic, in this case, but without Heaven or Hell as the outcomes. More or less the Wheel of Samsara imo of whatever. And again, I am not really afraid to entertain other modalities of looking at these ideas. This is just the first one I am going to get to explore here at this space Ive created online. Im excited to see how my idea is challenged and shaped as I speak to the most intersting folks I can find. I am very eager to announce more and more guests, but taking my time with a substack approach so I can focus more on larger ideas instead of guests quantity, at EPC we are mostly concerned here with producing positive outcomes and quality "content."
Anyway, SEE YA LATER, ALLIGATOR.

After a lifetime of tinkering and jobs involving audio capture and Foley/Sound Design, working crew in location sound/post-production, and as an audio engineer in many other capacities, I've picked up a few things. Between studying music, frequencies, small electronics tinkering, hands-on jobs running Cat5/6, a fascination with the fact that our entire brain is running oscillation detectors (and that's pretty much it...), and trying to read everything I could from physics to biology, taking my time understanding what I can, as I can.. and more, I want to be able to offer these things to folks as we go along. I especially want to make it easy to make and clear. So here are several methods I will offer.
I have prepared, as best I can, a simple walkthrough and parts list. A trip to Lowe's and a broken guitar speaker....
All the way up to a 3D printable, scalable download I will offer for pay-what-you-can. I hope to do this via my Substack in an effort to inspire others to get excited about new ideas and potentials. What better way to talk about resonance than to demonstrate it.
